Hey guys!  I had a pretty merry Christmas.  I got a new mouse, which I’ve been meaning to get for a while.  We spent Christmas over at my cousin’s house, and my cousin’s kids are so cute.  The younger one is not quite two yet and getting more verbal every time I see him.

Anyways, here’s what I got for you today!

Distant cousin of the Clear Bear is the Clear CAT!  Does it have four legs and a tail, or five flagella?  Both, I’d say.  She/he/it is so happy to see you!

Merry Christmas, everyone!  Meet Lettuce’s sister Romaine.  Older than the other veggie bunnies, she’s a calm, sophisticated poetic type, who Lettuce looks up to but doesn’t always listen to.

Whoa, it’s Christmas Eve already?!  Dang.  Seems like just yesterday was Thanksgiving.

Hey, remember this one?  In her previous appearance Carrot was a nervous little worrywart…now I’ve made her a snowboarder?  What the heck?  I think it helps make her a more complex character, to be both the cautious one and the thrillseeker.  Hurtling down a frozen mountain is way safer than the kinds of shenanigans Radish comes up with.

Pea looking as cute as ever.  Also, the semester is over and I’m fairly confident on how I did on finals.  Yay!

Getting her eyes to look right took more time than I expected.  I like her cloak though…  I want one!

Meet the Clear Bear!  He is a single-celled animal thing who is so happy to meet you!  None of those blobbles inside of him are supposed to be accurate organelles.

Wajas is down…it drove me crazy at first but now I’m just impatient for Monday to come.

This design originated on the same page of sketches as my earlier jellyfish design.  I like his spots.

I’ve been sick for the past two weeks.  Just a cold, but enough to make me not feel like doing much of anything.  But as I’m recovering I realize that I haven’t done anything in a while!  Let’s see what I can post for you guys.

A kappa!  Most people know about these guys, but for those who don’t:

A kappa is a Japanese water demon.  If you get too close to the water where a kappa is lurking it’ll grab you and drag you into the water to eat.  However, they are very polite.  If you bow to a kappa it’ll always bow back.  Fortunately for you, kappa need to keep water in the bowl-like depression in their head or they’ll suffocate out of the water!  If they bow it’ll spill and then they’re in trouble.  They also love cucumbers.  If you write your name on a cucumber and toss it into the water, the kappa will eat it and remember that you’re nice.  That way you don’t get eaten!  In some Harvest Moon games you can toss cucumbers into a pond to get a present from the local kappa.
